You’ll find plenty of information on the news these days about the war that’s raging between the IDF and Hamas in Gaza. But what you won’t find in the news anywhere is anything at all about the annual (this has been going on for 15 years) joint prayer service for Arabs and Jews that took place at The New Covenant Church last evening.Sixty or so believers gathered to pray for those suffering because of the war in Gaza, each other, the residents of Haifa, Israel, and the world. I heard prayers in Arabic, Hebrew, Russian and English. Even though I only understood the prayers prayed in English and Russian, I sensed the presence of the Holy Spirit and witnessed the sincerity and fervency of all the prayers.
Incidentally, one of the members of our church, a middle-aged woman named Nunu, may have had a heart attack during the service. She was taken from the church by ambulance to the hospital. Please pray for her quick recovery and continue to pray for an end to the violence in Gaza.
