i'm doing much better this year than i did last year...at least as far as mileage is concerned. i took until jan 19 to get this many miles last year. i barely had over 100 miles by month's end. so my goal for this week if the snow and ice and single digits don't force me to stay indoors is to have more miles by week's end than i had in all of jan last year. should't be too hard. i only need another 30 miles.
so, what about today? it was warm! 20F when i left. 21F when i returned. much better than the teens i'd been dealing with. and the wind was almost non-existent - a strange thing for south central kansas - and it was out of the southeast - a strange thing for winter. i guess that would make this a strange ride.
not much to report. i was slow going out. my odometer didn't act up as much today as it did yesterday. i'm not happy with cateye at the moment. hopefully the malfuntioning will stop when it gets warmer. (like steve's 70s in san diego!) if not, i guess i'll just keep mapping every ride on DM and using that mileage. i've found that it's pretty accurate.
that's all for today! i'm temporarily ahead of eric m (from hugoton, ks) by 13 miles, so at least that's good! (22.10 miles @ 16.9mph)
