i walked my wife up to the school dressed to run. i wasn't sure how it was going to go, but i decided i couldn't sit around any longer wondering. i ran in the building for a second to use the restroom and, as i was leaving, i mentioned to the librarian that i was going out for a run and hoped it didn't hurt too much. "it won't hurt forever," she said.
that did it. i had to run. so i walked to the corner, picked up my right foot and put it down again. my left foot followed. immediately i knew i was going to be alright. i was sore, but not in pain.
i thought i'd run a lap around the north side of town, but when i got to the railroad tracks, i felt so good i couldn't help myself. i turned and took in a little detour down south. i came back by the house and decided to keep going back to my starting point. i even picked up the pace a bit.
i'm glad i got out there and ran. it was time to stop whining and run. is it time for you to do the same?
