i went into work early this morning so i could have an extended lunch break and get out for a short two-wheeled excursion. the storm last night blew all sorts of grit onto the shoulders of the road, making me a bit nervous about flats, but i made it out to milan road and back without any deflating experiences. the wind was terribly hard to judge. i looked at the weatherbug and saw it was out of the northeast. the flag at the high school showed the same thing. three miles out of town, though, the flag at the top of mock hill was kind of wishy washy. couldn't tell for sure on east or west. i was already committed to riding east before i turned around, so i kept going. after i turned around, i slowed down a bit. my first 5.12 miles were at 17.2mph. the next dropped to 16.8mph. the wind was just enough in my face going west, that i was slowed down. grrrr! i had a great time out in the sun anyway, so who really cares? (10.25 miles @ 17.0mph)
